Help Save Friends of Sharon Art Studio!

Updated: Apr 6, 2020

To harness our collective power to do good during we are partnering with Benevity to raise money for the Sharon Art Studio.

We were supposed to be starting our Spring Session in our studio. The mornings would have been filled with the joyful sounds of inspired artists. The "elders" of the art community and others who have daytime hours to create come in, put the coffee pot on, and get to work alongside others. You would see elaborate stained glass pieces, watercolors making Calla Lily flowers come to life on the canvas, and hear the hum of the potters wheel centering a piece of clay that will become a tea cup. During a "normal" session, art classes happen at the Sharon Art Studio from 10:00am until 10:00pm, Monday through Friday. We're open on the weekends from 10:00am until 5:00pm. Let's keep these classes going! Friends of Sharon Art Studio is the non-profit that partners with San Francisco Recreation and Park to offer these classes. We have a separate budget that pays teachers, purchases materials, and maintains the equipment necessary for hundreds of people to create art in our community. Because classes are not running, we do not have the funds to keep the non-profit running.  We need your help!  Donate now through the “We Are We” Giving Portal!

Classes are on HOLD.

We're remaining hopeful that staying at home now will help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Classes will resume once we get the green light to reopen. However, if you want to withdraw from a class you have registered for, please contact the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department. You can also call 415-831-6800.

Hello Friends,

Sharon Art Studio is committed to keeping quality art classes affordable and accessible to the community. We can only do this through the generosity of our friends (that's YOU!). In addition to keeping prices low, our goal is to offer scholarships for adults and youth who cannot afford the full price of a class. Please support this mission by giving today. Your gifts will determine how the Friends of Sharon Art Studio moves forward during this time. Please consider donating today. In Community, Nicki Guard Executive Director Sharon Art Studio
