Lucinda Gold
Fine Arts
Lucinda Gold is an artist with a background in both Fine Art and Sociology, whose work is deeply informed by feminist theory and social inquiry. Their interdisciplinary approach brings a critical and compassionate lens to the practice of drawing, treating it as both a method of inquiry and a mode of self-expression.
After graduating UC Santa Cruz they began teaching electives in drawing and print making at Oxbow school of the arts in Napa Valley and engaging in the printmaking community at Kala art institute in Berkeley.
From a young age, drawing became their language, finding clarity in visually expressing nuanced emotions at times when words feel insufficient. Their mixed media work seeks to build worlds that narrow the gap between the familiar and the imaginary, something their “dreamscape” course will explore in depth.
They seek to guide students toward uncovering their personal visual language—whether rooted in observation or imagination—by emphasizing intuition, experimentation, and attentive mark-making. Their goal is to cultivate a space where drawing becomes a tool not just for seeing the world, but for understanding one’s own place within it.
