Art in the Park

Art in the Park is an intensive summer arts program at Sharon Art Studio, designed for youth ages 11-13 with an interest in Ceramics, Mixed Media and Fine Arts. Previous experience is not required, but projects require the ability to focus, follow multi-step procedures, and a commitment to attending camp every day to experience the completion of artwork. On Fridays campers will take field trips to local arts-based organizations and institutions.

Teen Ceramics Handbuilding Half-Day Camp

Teen Ceramics Handbuilding Half-Day Camp

This half-day camp meets Monday-Thursday for 3-weeks and is for teens interested in exploring a variety of ceramics handbuilding techniques to create sculptures and jewelry. Campers will learn to create functional handbuilt pottery and explore techniques such as sgraffito, mishima, and the many ways to use underglazes. Wheel throwing is not covered in this specialized curriculum.

Teen Jewelry Half-Day Camp

Teen Jewelry Half-Day Camp

This half-day camp meets Monday through Thursday for three (3) weeks and ideal for teens ages 14-17 interested in exploring techniques in jewelry and metal arts in depth. Both beginning and intermediate level students are welcome. Beginning students will be introduced to the basic skills of professional jewelry making and metalsmithing, and returning students will dive deeper into techniques to create unique pieces such as pendants, earrings and rings as well as 3-D objects made of copper and brass.

Teen Mixed Media Half-Day Camp

Teen Mixed Media Half-Day Camp

This half-day camp meets Monday through Thursday for 3-weeks and will introduce teens to mixed media techniques such as collage and monoprinting. Campers will explore the possibilities for creating one-of-a-kind images using stencils, texture tools, stamps, and found objects. Campers will experiment with textures, patterns, and color harmonies and produce prints that can be used on their own or as an element for collaging, journaling, and mixed-media projects.
