Shimmer & Shine

Hello everyone!

My name is Sierra Apicella, and I am thrilled to announce that I am the artist in residence at Sharon Art Studios for summer 2024! Today marks the beginning of my second

week in the studio, and I couldn't be more excited to be here. Alongside my residency, I am also the assistant jewelry teacher for the youth summer camp happening here this summer.

This first week has been filled with organizing and preparing for the busy months ahead but it has given me time to fully flush out my ideas! I am excited to share that the theme for my residency is "Inner Harmony: Celebrating Mindfulness and Self-Love through Jewelry." I would like this collection to embody the essence of mindfulness and self-love, while  honoring the journey of self-discovery and inner peace.

The goal of the "Inner Harmony" collection will be to evoke a sense of calm and serenity, using soothing colors, organic shapes, and symbolic motifs! I’ve finalized some sketches and can’t wait to start bringing these designs to life. The collection will also feature healing gemstones like moon quartz, and citrine, known for their healing and empowering properties. My goal is to create wearable reminders of the importance of self-love, mindfulness, and inner harmony.
