Jewelry Workshop: Do-it-Yourself Earrings

Make a statement in your own handmade pair of earrings! In this class, students will create one pair of brass or copper earrings while learning basic metalsmithing skills like sawing, texturing, polishing, wire wrapping. We will explore design principles such as symmetry/ asymmetry and negative/positive space. Students are welcome to bring in beads or other craft elements to incorporate into their designs. This class will not teach hands-on soldering techniques, but it may be demonstrated. Jewelry making requires normal hand dexterity. Materials provided. Please note that the Jewelry Studio is located on the 2nd floor of the Sharon Art Studio and accessible only by stairs.
