  • November Raku

    Instructor: Karen Koltonow

    Date: Saturdays, 11/14 and 11/21

    Time: 1-4pm

Raku is when pots are taken from the kiln while they are still glowing red hot. They are then placed in a material that catches fire easily, such as sawdust or newspaper. This starves the pot of oxygen, which gives the glaze a wonderful variety of colors. The first weekend will focus on hand building 1-2 pieces. The second weekend will be bringing your pieces to life using this technique.
