LEADED GLASS
instructors: Virginia Banta, Constance Flannery, Dolores Gray, & Ellen Soloway

special notes:
• New STUDENTS (new to glass or to the studio) first class is mandatory
to receive instruction that will not be repeated. Speak to an instructor
before registering if this is a problem.
• EXPERIENCED STUDENTS No grinding the first 2 hours of the first class.
• MOSAIC STUDENTS may sign up for any stained glass class, but no grouting allowed

Basic instruction in elementary and advanced leaded glass techniques. Students will learn how to construct a leaded glass window hanging. Advanced students work on more sophisticated projects including tiffany lamp shades. Class fee includes introductory glass project, use of tools and some materials. Students will be responsible for purchasing materials for personal projects (which can be costly). Material list provided at first class. Glass cutting requires normal hand dexterity.

GLASS FUSING & SLUMPING
Instructor: Constance Flannery,
Anna Whitlach & Oliva Competente
 

During this five week class, students will learn the basics of glass fusing and slumping as well as receive instruction on how to fire glass kilns/projects. This is a hands-on class. Some of the projects we will do are: fused glass jewelry, fused picture frame, fused and slumped bowl as well as instruction in acid etching and painting on glass. All materials are included and all tools are provided. Bring your own glass cutter if you have a preference. A $100 materials fee pays for all supplies.

FIRST CLASS IS MANDATORY (NO EXCEPTIONS) SINCE INSTRUCTION WILL BE GIVEN THAT CANNOT BE REPEATED.
PREREQUISITE At least 6 months of glass experience. Must be able to cut and break glass accurately and comfortably. NO BEGINNERS.

ADVANCED GLASS
instructors: Constance Flannery

 

To qualify as advanced student you must have six or more months of glass experience at Sharon Art
Studio and have completed a stained glass project 15x18" or larger. Advanced students may work on
more sophisticated projects, possibly including tiffany lamp shades.

GLASS OPEN STUDIO

For the enrolled Glass or Mosaics student at Sharon Art Studio who wants more, we offer an "Open Studio". There is no instruction given for open studio. Open studio is for intermediate and advanced students only.

NOTE If not enrolled in a glass class at the same time, you will be automatically DROPPED FROM the OPEN STUDIO SESSION and a $10 processing fee will be deducted from your credit.
