ALTERED SHRINES: MIXED MEDIA CLASS
instructor: Dolores Gray
Learn how to create your own shrines and assemblage pieces. Create a shrine from a part of yourself or that special memory. Shrines can be spontaneously born from moments great and small that emerge from simple childhood memories or spectacular journeys. Many personal shrines begin as boxes, as small as a matchbox or as large as a suitcase. Creating a shrine can be an act of exploration of the personal, spiritual or the sublime. Come explore your sense of the ‘domesticated’ shrine. That
is tailored to your theme, colors, and style, and may include personal objects, found objects or your own photos. They may commemorate a special occasion, such as a birthday, wedding, journey or the fun of juxtaposition.
