FIMO WORKSHOP: CELTIC KNOT BEADS

With easy to follow step-by-step instructions, students will build a complex "celtic" knot cane which is designed to interlock and repeat into a wonderful array of patterns. From just one cane students will build a series of canes by cutting, reforming and recombining them, manipulating each of the pieces differently and exploring the possibilities of infinite pattern variation. Finally, we'll make beads and discuss techniques that dramatically enhace the finished look of the work. Materials list. (45 minute lunch) |

MIX THAT MEDIA!

This workshop is about discovery and play with multiple mediums. The emphasis will be on experimentation with materials. Artist participants will be free to work with abstraction, representation or to develop the work entirely from the unique process that layering with different materials provides. Results are often surprisingly rich and unexpected. This moving and pushing around of image and structure is the critical means to the final product. We will be using a combination of materials which may include: acrylics, pastels (oil and soft), oil sticks, oil paint/dry pigment with glues, gesso, watercolor and/or colored pencils. The combination of materials themselves inspire experimentation and artistic risks, and helps the artist to focus on process as well as product. Participants will be invited to use all or a combination of materials as the workshop progresses, Supply list upon registration. |

PRECIOUS METAL CLAY (PMC) RINGS

Love the one ring? Have problems with rings fitting your fingers? PMC rings will explore how to make a simple single band ring and then go in to more elaborate ring designs. Includes setting a stone and sizing rings on hard to fit fingers. All tools, materials and handouts needed to complete a fine silver ring(s) will be included in class. Just bring your ideas!
