LEADED GLASS
instructors: Virginia Banta, Constance Flannery, Margaret Whitten

special notes:
• New Students (new to glass or to the studio) must attend
the first four classes to receive instruction that will not be repeated.
Speak to an instructor before registering if this is a problem.
• Glass cutting requires normal hand dexterity.
• Advanced Students: No grinding or soldering during the first two hours of the first class.

Basic instruction in elementary and advanced glass techniques. Students will learn how to construct a leaded glass window hanging. Advanced students work on more sophisticated projects including tiffany lamp shades.

Class fee includes introductory glass project, use of tools and some materials. Students will be responsible for purchasing materials for personal projects (which can be costly). Material list provided at first class. Glass cutting requires normal hand dexterity.

PAINTING ON GLASS
instructors: Dolores Gray

Learn the traditional Stained Glass painting method used for hundreds of years in Churches and Synagogues. Students will learn to trace black painting, shading and stippling using umber brown, as well as colored glass paints, mica paints, and firing. Materials list provided at registration.

INTRODUCTION TO
GLASS FUSING & SLUMPING

instructor: Constance flannery

Level: Equivalent of 6 months or more of glass experience. Must be able to cut glass comfortably and use glass tools.

Hands on class introduces glass students to the theory and art of fused and slumped glass, glass design and kiln firing. There will be weekly readings and design assignments. Students will make a glass palette (week 1), picture frame (week 2), fused and slumped bowl (weeks 3 & 4) and an advanced project. All tools and materials provided. 1st class is mandatory for new students - no exceptions.
