CAPTURING
NATURAL FORMS with COLOR PENCIL

In recent years, colored pencils
have become increasingly popular as an art
medium. Easy to use, simple to transport, they
lend themselves to brilliant images of flowers,
seashells, butterflies and even more modestly
hued subjects. To assure success the workshop
offers a clear step-by-step approach, a drawing
exercise, group critiques, and individual attention.
Participants should bring a colorful subject
they wish to draw. A materials list is given

MAGIC OF TRANSFERS & COLLAGE!

Find
your creative spirit using transfer techniques
and collaging. Learn to transfer images onto
wood, metal, glass, fabric and more! Transfer
that precious crayon drawing onto fabric
and make a quilt. Trasfer a photocopy of
a family photo onto a wood box and make your
own keepsake or alter piece. Basic transfer
techniques in caulk, gel medium, contact
paper, beeswax, decal paper as well as others
will be covered. Apply the samples you make
into drawings, paintings, handmade books
or use your new skills to develop your own
unique project!

Golden paint rep, Tesia Blackburn as she
shares her expertise with discussions and
demonstrations about different types of
pigments and paints, different viscosities,
grounds and color mixing. Various gels
and mediums will be demonstrated, as well
as techniques for the use of iridescent
and metallic paints.You will learn how
to extend paint to save money, and how
to mix paints with gels to create unique
textural surfaces. Learn how to use different
products to make surfaces for watercolors,
graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, oil
and soft pastels. Free Packet of Literature
and Samples will be provided for all students!

(precious metal clay) is a two-day intensive
workshop that will cover construction of
a piece (or pieces) and the ancient technique
