LIGHT
and SHADOWS with WATERCOLOR instructor:
Vesta Kirby
level:
beginning & experienced
watercolorists
By popular
request we will focus on the dark side
of light - the shadows. Light and shadow
create form. How does one paint the color,
size and shape of a cast shadow and local
shading of an object? We learn to create
the mood of a painting with sparkling
highlights and rich darks. Working with
a variety of still life objects we will
strengthen skills for seeing and painting
shadows. Landscapes will be included
later in the session. Watercolor techniques
will be demonstrated as we explore this
illusive appearance in painting. Material
list provided upon registration.
