Did you know that you can support the studio by donating items to Community Thrift Store?!

Check out this helpful information on how to choose the Friends of Sharon Art Studio as the community partner to donate to.

Here's how it works:

1. Please take a look at Community Thrift's current Welcome/Unacceptable Donatinos list before bringing your items to the store.

2. Donate your items to Community Thrift, and at the time of drop-off, choose the Friends of Sharon Art Studio as the charity partner to benefit from the sale of your donated items

3. When your items get purchased, your charity of choice gets paid!

4. Then, Community Thrift dispurses to charity partners on a quarterly basis.

It's that easy! Visit Community Thrift's list on items they are currently accepting today and the next time you decide on cleaning out your closet, perhaps choose Community Thrift as the organization to donate to!

About the Studio: Sharon Art Studio is jointly operated by the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department (SFRPD) and the Friends of Sharon Art Studio (FOSAS), a non-profit public benefit organization dedicated to advancing the Studio’s goal to promote art as way of exploring our selves and our place within the community. FOSAS believes that art education is an essential component to a healthy community and strives to ensure that quality, non-competitive art programs are affordable and accessible to all. While the facility is managed and maintained with city funds, FOSAS works in cooperation with SFRPD by augmenting and adding breadth to the Studio’s program, and through raising funds for equipment, supplies and free after school and mentoring programs for youth. Sharon Art Studio could not offer the variety of classes and free community programs without the support of our donors.

Contributions support our free programs, including quarterly scheduled free art days, community events, and our youth mentorship program. Additionally, donations fund our supplementary scholarship program which is available to everyone, studio equipment and supply purchases, equipment maintenance and repair, and a small administrative staff.
