FALL SESSION REGISTRATION
Please note, beginning Fall 2010 session, registration will take place online at www.sfreconline.org.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

REGISTRATION
1. Registration takes place at www.sfreconline.org or in person at the McLaren Lodge Annex,
501 Stanyan St. during regular business hours. For registration dates and times, refer to the
front page of this brochure.


2. To register you must first create a Family Account (whether you are registering a family or
only one individual). You must include your email address for access to online registration, class
confirmation, schedule changes, and updates. All information provided is used ONLY for program
registration. If you misplace your login ID and PIN, you may enter your email address at
www.sfreconline.org to receive it. Please call 415-831-6800 during business hours for further assistance.

3. Enrolling in programs: Once you have created a family account, go to
www.sfreconline.org to register for classes. Use the course numbers listed in this flyer to find
the class you want, or browse all class offerings online. You can also register in person at
McLaren Lodge Annex, 501 Stanyan St., between 9am and 5pm M-F.

4. Paying for programs: To pay for courses online, students must use a Mastercard or Visa. To pay cash
or check, register in person at the McLaren Lodge Annex. For information call 415-831-6800 during
regular business hours.

5. Membership: To be eligible for priority registration and a $10 fee reduction on all courses, students
must submit a FOSAS membership application and fee no later than 10 days before priority
registration
. To continue to receive membership benefits, members must renew annually. For a
membership application, visit www.sharonartstudio.org.

6. PLEASE NOTE: Some classes fill quickly during the first hour of registration. Some classes may
fill entirely during the priority registration period, leaving no spaces in general registration.

7. If you are on the waitlist for a class, you will be notified when a class opens. PLEASE DO NOT CALL US.

8. Mail-in registration is no longer accepted. All course registration must be done online or in
person at the McLaren Lodge, 501 Stanyan St., in Golden Gate Park. For information call

Scholarships

1. Partial and full scholarships are available for all classes.

2. For information on eligibility for a fee-reduction scholarship given at the time of online
registration, call 415-831-6800 or go to the McLaren Lodge Annex, 501 Stanyan St. in Golden
Gate Park.

3. Scholarships are also available on a reimbursement basis from the Friends of Sharon Art Studio.

Refund Policy

1. Classes and workshops canceled by the studio for any reason are fully refundable. We try to
notify students 7 days before the start date of a class if a cancellation is necessary.

2. Student-requested refund policy:
• All class fees are refundable if a request is received up to 1 week prior to the first class meeting.
• A $10 processing fee is withheld from all class fee refunds.
• A refund requested during the week prior to the start date or at the 1st meeting is reduced by
an additional fee equal to the prorated value of the 1st class, plus the $10 processing fee.
• No cash refunds will be given after the first class meeting. Where possible vouchers for use toward a
future class may be made available, at the discretion of the program manager.

Studio Policies

1. The Sharon Art Studio is an art recreation facility. Studio space is not provided for commercial
purposes. Student work may be shown professionally and sold only through Sharon Art Studio
sponsored events on or off site. Work may also be shown off site with prior approval, provided
that the Sharon Art Studio program is also credited.

2. Students pay for all lessons, regardless of attendance.

3. Class fees are prorated according to the number of meetings per session. Make-ups are not
provided to compensate for legal holidays.

4. New students must attend the first 3 classes of the session.

5. New students failing to attend the first scheduled class without prior permission from the
instructor forfeit their class space and fees.

6. Class fees cannot be transferred to another session.

7. Open studio is available at a fee for enrolled ceramics students and returning glass & metal students.
Open Studio does not include instruction.

8. Adult classes are for adults 18 and older unless otherwise noted.

9. All materials for youth and teen classes are provided in class.

10.Dogs are not allowed in the studio. Service/assitance dogs are exceptions.

San Francisco Recreation and Park Department
The Sharon Art Studio operates under the auspices of the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department. Over thirty years ago, the Departme
nt established the program to serve as a community center for the arts. The Department employs the majority of art instructors, pays for utilities, maintains the facility, and ensures the program best serves the needs of the general public.
