Friends
of the Sharon Art Studio
Incorporated as a non-profit
organization in July 1991, the Friends of the Sharon
Art Studio (FOSAS)
is devoted to preserving and enhancing the Sharon
Art program.
The Friends subsidize the program budget in many
ways such as purchasing art supplies and acquiring
and maintaining Studio equipment. In addition, the
Friends provide scholarships for youth and adults,
employ art instructors and a program director. The
Friends also arrange and sponsor contract classes
and workshops.
The Friends generate income through their membership
program, donations, Studio sales and auctions, material
and operations fees, fundraising events and grant-writing.
Simply
download the membership

Leaving a bequest is a wonderful way to express
your gratitude to the Sharon Art Studio and care
for the budding artists of the future. Did you know
that if you leave your retirement fund to family
members, up to 50% of the money will go to estate
and inheritance taxes? Whereas, if you leave the
money to a non-profit organization like the Friends
of Sharon Art Studio, 100% of the money goes to the
organization. Plus to name FOSAS as a beneficiary
of your retirement fund, you do not need a lawyer
or an estate planner, you can contact your plan manager
or broker and simply request the appropriate form.
In addition, you can leave a bequest in your will
or revocable trust to FOSAS by including a simple
statement designating a gift to Friends of the Sharon
Art Studio, San Francisco, CA. This should take no
more time than a phone call to your lawyer and is
very low cost to do via a codicil to your will or
an amendment to your revocable living trust.
